Government & Social Responsibility

The strong governance of CenTrio ensures the proper frameworks are used for us to provide a positive impact on society.

TECHNOLOGY

Various technologies are used in our systems

Every district energy system is different and depending on the energy markets and customer base the technologies implemented may vary across our locations. CenTrio only uses proven technologies to ensure reliable heating, cooling and power.

  • CHP/Cogeneration
  • Thermal Ice Storage
  • Sewer Heat Recovery

CHP Resiliency

Combined Heat and Power (CHP) or cogeneration provides improved reliability, efficiency and resiliency. The heat bi-product can be recovered and be used for steam, hot water and even cooling.

Ice Battery Cooling

Thermal Ice Storage shifts power purchases to off-peak times when electricity costs are lower to build and store ice to then be melted for cooling during on-peak times.

Utilizing Sewer Heat

Sewer heat recovery is a sustainable technology that can use the sewer system to recover heat and re-use it for heating buildings. The process can be reversed when cooling a building.
